Does your child love school? Is your child in daycare? Do they enjoy reading and writing? As a parent, a child’s education is one of the most significant concerns.
Choosing the right tools and the right places to enroll your child can be quite the task, and quite difficult to know if the decision you are making is the correct one.
Boogie Board Play and Trace Review
I find there is such a fear these days about the rise of technology in our society, especially for young children.
So many adults now put their entire lives on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.
These same people are buried into their phones at home and use it for everyone.
The Electronic Generation
What for do you use your Smartphone? I am not trying to make you feel guilty about it; I am the same!
I use my iPhone to take notes, to take pictures, to call, to text, to email, to go on social media: Basically, everything I want to do in a day!
However, I noticed when I had children that they saw my obsession with my phone and wanted one of their own.
This is when I realized: What if the next generation strictly does everything using a device, rather than their hands?
I have always been a firm believer in using a pencil and paper when at school. However, when my child went to kindergarten, I was amazed at how little paper he needed to bring.
I remember as a young boy needing to have a lot of lined paper for a variety of classes and to have at least three sharpened pencils always.
This is not the case anymore, and there are many pros and cons to it. My son now uses an iPad in his Grade 1 class, to learn how to use future technology, to prepare them for this new generation.
Fun Learning Tool
These devices also eliminate the use of using too much paper, which is fantastic for the environment.
I do believe in this, and I think it is good for the long term, but it took me quite some time to fully be okay with my son using technology.
One great tool that is on the market today is the Boogie Board Play and Trace LCD eWriter. The Boogie board allows kids to use a pen or pencil on a surface but doesn’t use any paper.
This was huge for me! I don’t want my kids only to grow up typing on a keyboard or playing on a touchscreen phone. I want them to have the knowledge of how to write by hand as I believe it is so important.
A Boogie Board combines the old-school way of writing with the new school way of incorporating technology.
It is a great tool to learn how to write and to practice how to draw. The Boogie Board has various products available to purchase online and in stores across the country.
One brand that you can buy is the Boogie Board Play n’ Trace LCD eWriter.

Verdict on the Boogie Board Play and Trace Review
As I said before, I have always been hesitant, especially in later years, to introduce my children to technology at such a young age.
I want them to enjoy the outdoors and read a book they hold in their hands and write with a pen on paper.
However, it is just unavoidable for them to use some form of technology as kids, because it is so relevant to our society today.
The best thing to do is find a device that also incorporates older ways of doing things, so you child is still getting the best education that they need.
I hesitate to recommend the Boogie Board Play and Trace LCD eWriter. I’ll start off by saying that kids do like using this product.
Test Before Commiting
It is easy for them to hold and it is built for younger children with smaller-sized hands.
The Boogie Board Play n’ Trace LCD eWriter eliminates the need of buying paper and lets them trace shapes, letters, words, and pictures, to stimulate their creative brain and to teach them while they are young.
While that all sounds great, it is missing some key components. First off, the screen is too dim, and you cannot see what your child has written.
That defeats the whole purpose of this product and which is why I do not recommend it. What good is a learning writing tablet, if you cannot see what you are writing?
I recommend looking for a product with a brighter screen, and that is also able to connect via Bluetooth to a laptop.
You can also read about a smaller Boogie Board that I recommend which is called the Boogie Board Jot 4.5 LCD eWriter Clear View: Review.
Having Bluetooth compatibility allows you to save your works of art and share it with other family members.
